Endeleban Losteast, created by Barret Blake (B2 C10)
A human mage from Cormyr, and a novice of the Aes Saidarr. A fateful encounter with a banshee left Endeleban a ghost of a man, with albino skin and white hair. His touch is cold as ice, and his raspy voice never raises above a whisper. The young mage revels in his appearance, though, as it contributes to the air of mystery and power that he wears. Outwardly arrogant and despicable of those he considers beneath him (i.e. everyone), Endeleban has few friends - but many allies, for the past several months have taught him much about controlling the forces of magic...
Endeleban parted ways with his companions shortly after returning from the Nightmare Lands. Greatly changed by his many brushes with death and power, the young mage was last known to be heading west, towards his native land of Cormyr. To no one's surprise, however, the mage surfaced again, this time in the city of Brindinford. Having assumed the identity of the mage Keridan, Endeleban manipulated events and the actions fo the party from Silverhall in order to secure the Ba'althril Soulcutter. A former Knight of Silverhall, Gulthias was a human wizard who bore the Ba'althril blade Shadowreaver in battle against an ancient dragon cult. However, at some point in the final battle versus the lichpriest, Gulthias turned on his companions, betraying them before fleeing the temple. He eventually turned up in the ancient tower of Nightfang Spire, where he discovered the lost Heart of Ashardalon. Channeling powerful necromatic magic, he animated the Heart, and used it to fortify his home with powerful undead, including transforming himself into a vampire. Before he could bring plans for his new cult to fruition, he was staked in a distant underground citadel, where he lay for centuries.
The stwake eventually sprouted into the Gulthias Tree, and become the subject of worship for the mad druid Belak. Eventually, the party led by Alain of Westmarch tracked the stories of the Tree to the citadel and defeated the druid, but also destroyed the Gulthias Tree. Freed from the stake holding him in stasis, the vampire wizard rose again, eventually making his way back to Nightfang Spire to continue his plans.
Upon learning of the vampire's rise, Alain and the only other survivor of the expiedition, Kazmahar, vowed to hunt Gulthias down and destroy him. They eventually came to Nightfang Spire, and fought their way past the fell minions and traps that barred their way. In the iron Core of the Spire, they faced Gulthias. It was later revealed that Ishram was a traitor and was responsible for magically transporting the humanoids inside the city walls. He was killed by the party before his betrayal turned the tide of the battle.

Sending his servants out to scour Sithicus for the missing stone, Soth retreated into six magical "memory mirrors" as a diversion from the chaos of Ravenloft. He began to spend so much time in the mirrors, however, that Sithicus began to break apart without his presence. When finally revived by the members of the Company, Soth was angered - until they led him to the location of the missing stone. But the powers of Ravenloft would not allow him his victory, and the stone was shattered, it's fragments carried away by ravens, forever trapping Lord Soth within his self-made prison.

Leader of the Forsaken. Nau'leens was a priest of Darkness who vied for control of a long lost world with the priestess Selena. He recruited many allies (some willing, some not) to him, and rallied them in opposition to the rule of Law. He was the first to be captured by the Pillar of Judgment. Finding that he could exert his will on the priestess even while within his prison, Nau'leens influenced Selena into overstepping her powers and taking on too much. Selena attempted to entrap the demon Ygog-soggoth, whom she believed to be the embodiment of Darkness. Nau'leens had hoped to escape at this point, but Selena succeeded – though at great cost. It was here that the Pillar and the city around it were pulled into Ravenloft.
Nau'leens and the other Forsaken were trapped until the arrival of the party in search of the second Ba'alstone. Nau'leens was able to subtley manipulate the dwarf Ghrym Darkforge into destroying the Pillar, thus freeing the Forsaken. During their escape, Nau'leens entered the body of Ian Bradwardyn and escaped into the Mists. When he discovered that they were being pursued, Nau'leens ordered first Gohrn then Trebaine to try and stop the party's advance. The dark priest then made a final stand, creating a nightmare landscape composed of elements from the party's combined memories.
Seeking escape from Ravenloft, Nau'leens formed a plan. He manipulated the nightmare landscape so as to cause the half elf Leif Treadwell to unknowingly kill his friend, Ekel. When did deed was done, the Mists began to form a new domain around Leif. The Necrolith opened a portal to Leif's home plane, and Nau'leens sought to escape through it. Before he could, though, Leif and Farid al-Haman caught up with him on the Necrolith, and Leif attacked him with the sword Darkfire. But this, too, had been part of Nau'leens' plan, and he was prepared as he drained the sword of its power and turned it against the half elf. The Shadowman was first spotted by the party when he led the attack that destroyed Eudora's Cottage. Later, he "recruited" a group of Wood Trolls to attack the party in the village of Terryn's Ferry, where he attempted to recover the Wyrmfang dagger. Driven off by Leif, the Shadowman next appeared to Thomasin in his journey across the Evermir. In that dream, Thomasin fought the Shadowman and defeated him.
The Shadowman later appeared with the Darkling army outside the walls of Tilverton. He has used his magic to extend his control over the entire army of humanoids and turn them towards his evil purpose. Protected by the magic of the Evermir, Thomasin managed to penetrate deep into the Darkling ranks and confront the Shadowman atop his own watchtower. The two fought, and the Shadowman was defeated. With their leader dead, the Darkling army fell into chaos, turning on the hapless city, only to be defeated by the arrival of the elven Revered Ones. But like all the others of his race, Turambar's motivations are his, alone... The mage was seen descending into the dark caverns far beneath Hellgate Keep after activating Mythanmar's Orb, a magical artifact which sealed the entire lower dungeon levels behind an impenetrable magical barrier.
Later, Turumbar showed up in Tilverton, having apparently gone there in search of the Wyrmfang dagger. To the shock of all, he was revealed to be a drow, having used a magical amulet to disguie himself. He was captured, and taken to Silverhall, where he was kept prisoner in a tower that allowed in constant daylight, and was magically lit at night. He apparently died in an escape attempt, a victim of a devastating fireball blast that destroyted most of the tower.
This death, however, was apparently faked, for Turmabar survived to later stalk the party. Deep within the Plane of Shadow, Turambar assassinated and impersonated the fighter Joshan Ironhammer, doing it so convincingly that even Joshan's brother Whendon did not suspect something was amiss. Later, after biding his time, Turambar was able to take advantage of the main heroes' absence and poison the priestess Serena. Though she survived, she was unable to use her magic to secure the fell Wyrmfang dagger, affording the drow thief to remove it from its guardian and flee with it.
