'My knowledge of citrus is lacking...' Ser Alain of Westmarch, created by Andy Lavery
A templar champion of Heironeous, Ser Alain of Westmarch was committed to striking down evil wherever he could uproot it. Having thrown his allegiance in with General Trevin and the other exiled Pax Draconis, Ser Alain had no trouble in finding enemies to smite, whether it was an undead Dragonpriest in a forgotten, sunless crypt or a tentacled abomination lurking in the darkness of a lost cave.

Alain was chosen to lead the party from Silverhall on their quest to destroy the Ba'althril weapons and the Wyrmfang dagger. Soon after setting out, however, he was unceremoniously slain by a bodak's stare. But the paladin's role was not done, for he was restored to life to seek out and destroy the vampire Gulthias, whom he had unknowingly freed from his prison. Through shadow and valley he came at last to Nightfang Spire, and undid much of the vampire's ressurrected cult. In the end, Alain sacrificed his own life to channel enough holy power to destroy the ancient Heart of Ashardalon, the source of Gulthias' power.

Brandon traveled into Ravenloft with the rest of the Company in search of the lost Ba'alstones. The small thief played a crucial role in the defeat of Meredoth, the ice-mage ruler of the island of Todstein. Brandon was last seen in the "Halfling Hung High", a ghoul-filled tavern within the nightmare version of Tilverton. It is presumed that he met a blissful, if not grisly, end.

Brandon's body, however, has been taken over by the spirit of Sho-Mara, one of the Forsaken. When last seen, the demon's occupancy had transformed the halfling's form, giving it blue skin and large, protruding horns from its back.

His loyalty, however, was unquestionable, and he had helped pull the party out of many a tight spot.

Hornwood ventured with his companions into the dwarven halls of Khundrukar, where he recovered the dwarven axe Grimblade from the horde of Nightscale, the black dragon. He paid for his discovery, however, when a shadowy assassian tracked the dwarf to a nearby town and slew him, disappearing with the axe.

After reaching Silverhall, Tsaran went with the other heroes to the beseiged town of Brindinford, in search of the fallen paladin Terun Eastmore. While there, he encountered a disguised medusa, and was turned to stone. His companions later returned Tsaran's unquestioned loyalty by questing to restore him to flesh. Eventually, while leading a group of soldiers in escort of the dreaded ba'althril weapons, Tsaran was attacked by an alien abomination, and perished far below ground in a forgotten shrine to a dark god.
